Description | The submitted contribution presents partial results of a case study dedicated to elementary writing in distance learning. The purpose of the case study was to explore the process of preparation and subsequent implementation of writing instruction by a first grade elementary school teacher during distance learning in the school year of 2020/2021. The research involved a class teacher, students, and parents who retrospectively described distance writing instruction in first grade at a small rural school. This paper presents partial results on the negatives and positives of elementary writing instruction during the school closure. The interpretation links the data collected by the two methods (interview and questionnaire) used in the case study. The findings highlight the importance of the teacher as an expert in the elementary writing instruction. |
