Description | This is the proceedings of the Student Musicological Conference 2018 which took place at the Institute of Musicology, Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University on 14 November 2018. The conference took place during the Week of Humanities of the Faculty of Arts, with the motto: 1918 - 2018 Tasks of Czech Science. The conference consisted of two thematic blocks. The first one was entitled "Personalities - Institutions - Locations," chaired by Mgr. Ondřej Pivoda, Ph.D., while the latter one, entitled "Personalities - Contexts - Concepts," was chaired by Mgr. Viktor Pantůček, Ph.D. Compared to the conference programme, this proceedings modifies the way how authors' contributions are ordered, and arranges the content in the following sequence: "Relation of Josef Suk and Vítězslav Novák to Slovak Music" (Mgr. Jan Charypar), "The Estate of Osvaldo Chlubna in the Fund of the Moravian Museum" (Mgr. Martin Pašek), "Slovak musical folklore in the works of Slovak composers" (Lucia Maloveská), "Slovak folk song in the piano arrangements of Vítězslav Novák and his pupils" (Mgr. Kristína Gothardttová), "The weekly magazine Ohlas od Nežárky as a source of knowledge of musical life in interwar Jindřichův Hradec" (Mgr. Petr Bajer), "The Vocal Spiritual Works of Petr Fiala" (Mgr. et Mgr. Lucie Hilscherová), "Svatopluk Havelka - a Contribution to His Early Work" (Bc. Jana Kratochvílová), "Pavel Zemek Novák as a Subject of Musicological Research" (Mgr. Ján Podracký), "Fighting against formalism: Czech variation on a Soviet theme" (Bc. Robert Smutný), and the list concludes with a résumé of the paper "Microtonality of Indian classical music - a resumé" (Ing. MgA. Tomáš Reidl). Two papers from the conference have not been published as separate conference chapters in these proceedings. |
