Description | The COVID-19 pandemic, which began to spread massively in the Czech territory, mainly since the beginning of its first wave in mid-March 2020, significantly affected the lives of the vast majority of Czech households. Its effects can be identified not only in the area of health (deaths, impaired mental health due to social isolation) but also in the economic area (restriction of work activity or loss of employment), in the social area (increase in poverty and social inequalities in society as a result of unemployment, disrupted relationships within and outside families) and also in the area of the environment (increased air quality due to limited land transport). Most of these topics and problems are often directly or indirectly the focus of social work interventions. This contribution aims to map all the measures taken by actors shaping the local social policy from the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic (March 2020) to the present (June 2022) in the selected ORP in the South Moravian region (the city of Znojmo), which are intended to mitigate its effects. At the same time, we will try to identify among these measures those that are in line with the concept of sustainable development of social work. |
