| Description | The text deals with the performances of two music-theatrical works that were not performed in the imperial capital of Vienna but in Graz (La forza dell'amicizia ovvero Pilade ed Oreste, 1728, and Aristheus1741). Both performances are put in the context of the political situation determined by the dynastic security of the hereditary lands. The connection of both works with pragmatic sanction is traced and references to the person of Maria Theresa are explained. |
