Citation
Description Restorative justice is largely unexplored territory for Czech criminal law, with occasional general references in the literature. On a theoretical level, it can even be said that the restorative idea is slowly but surely trickling into the norms of criminal law, which, however, leads to the question of why it is not manifesting itself in practice. One of the main theses for the non-use of restorative justice is not the lack of a legal basis, but rather the lack of information about its feasibility and the fear of public opinion, which gives rise to a general scepticism towards restorative justice. The intention of this paper is to present the results of a research investigation into the sentiments of Czech society on this topic, thus filling an otherwise empirically under-researched part of the study of restorative justice.
