Description | The purpose of this talk is to present how the Fides sculpture, probably created in the late 9th century and ornamented again around the year 1000, can be seen as a striking example of the monks' policy of representation. In addition to a desire to capitalize gold, however, it is primarily to promote (or recreate) the memory of the site and to establish its legend. |
