Description | This paper aims to present a research-based categorization of LMS courses that could serve as a diagnostic tool for course improvement or as a research tool for SRL analysis within an LMS. The main research question is how SRL is supported within the blended courses using LMS Moodle. To answer this question, we identified the features of LMS courses supporting SRL, categorized them, and developed a research-based evaluation scheme. The scheme could classify specific e-learning courses in terms of the level of SRL support. Our sample consists of 16 LMS Moodle courses deliberately selected from 86 LMS courses taught in the Spring of 2021 at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University. The sample selection aimed to capture the broadest possible range of LMS approaches. We identified three types of blended e-learning courses based on the level of SRL support: we refer to them as a repository, textbook, and SRL reinforcement for clear differentiation. This division can serve both for analytical purposes and as a tool for strengthening SRL support in the LMS. |
