| Description | One of the stereotypes about the "Middle Ages" is undoubtedly the idea that it was a period when the Church was haunted by hell and the devil in order to better manipulate people. It is also for this reason that the era is presented as primitive, as are the people who lived in it. But is this really the case? Is it not rather a projection of the present into the past? Isn't fear rather one of the driving elements of our present civilization? |
