Description | The aim of the methodology is to provide an understanding of elder abuse, its typology, manifestations, risks of occurrence and procedures for its detection and resolution. The methodology helps to translate knowledge in the field of elder abuse into practice for those who come into contact with older people on a regular basis. This can be essentially anyone who is not, or should not be, indifferent to the inappropriate treatment of an older person. Primarily, the methodology is intended for people working in support services under the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MLSA), with recommendations for other relevant actors, e.g. general practitioners and specialists, police, social departments of local governments, etc. However, it is also useful for the interested public and non-profit organisations, which also have an indispensable role in addressing this phenomenon. The presented procedures and recommendations are based on the research activities of the RESTABUS project, which are based on the findings of other research teams from all over the world and a wide range of scientific disciplines, as well as on many years of experience in working with the older people. The public consultation of this methodology is open in the form of an electronic form from 1 January 2023 to 30 June 2023 at the following link: https://1url.cz/@RESTABUS. Suggestions can also be sent in writing to Lucie Vidovićová, FSS MU, Joštova 10, 602 00 Brno. |
