Description | The article discusses a case study of the mystery tenant as a method deployed in a city in southeastern Slovakia, specifically in a socially excluded apartment building. Theoretically, the research is framed by the concept of wicked problems, system-oriented design, and the Research through Design approach. The tenant mystery responded directly to the critical situations associated with the eviction of tenants of the apartment building and the Covid-19 pandemic. His role changed from research to intervention based on his own work and changes in the city system, and his work ultimately sparked positive changes in social work field practice and laid the foundation for projects such as Housing First. This article traces the course of his work, its transformations, and an evaluation of the concept of leverage points in the context of Keller Easterling's Medium Design approach. |
