| Description | The text presents a comprehensive view of the work of this important pedagogue of leisure education and social pedagogy. The authors of the text follow Hofbauer's life work and opinions not only on the educational significance of leisure, but also evaluate his understanding of the educational role of the environment. His work reflects both the influence of the ideological distortion of the so-called real socialism in Czechoslovakia, in which social pedagogy was not place, and the revival of the field after November 1989.
