| Description | The paper deals with the current concept of the purpose of punishment in the Czech Republic and pointing out its relationship with penal and criminal policy. The text also highlights the importance of the values enshrined in the constitutional order for the definition of the purpose of punishment and these policies. The author also reflects on a slight discrepancy between the conception of the purpose of punishment by the Czech Constitutional Court and the Czech Criminal doctrine and presents his view on the significance of these differences. |
