Description The article debates the contemporary Ku Klux Klan regarding its historical legacy influencing the American society. It is examined through employment of theoretical approaches focused on insurgencies. Five parameters are operationalized based on the literature review and frame the article’s research design. The empirical development of the Ku Klux Klan in the last decade serves as the main data source. Moreover, five different interviews with Klansmen are observed. In the conclusion the existence of the Klan’s fourth generation is proposed as well as a conceptualization of employed ideology. Moreover, it provides an empirical overview of its existence.
