Description | Being able to read academic texts in English is crucial for many university students. What, why or how they read differs significantly depending on students´ discipline, programme, interest or specific project. To reflect this diversity, the Academic English course designed for Faculty of Arts students focuses on development of various reading and mediation skills. This presentation shows examples of integrated tasks that were developed to practice and assess reading which is considered to be a critical thinking process that leads to tangible products. The alignment between teaching and assessment will be discussed, as well as the use of CEFR descriptors for defining tasks. |
