| Description | A psychological approach to law offers valuable insights into human action and decision-making in a legal context. The purpose of this article is to introduce the psychological approach to law and to highlight the importance for legal researchers and practitioners to incorporate empirical findings from psychology into their work. The article discusses the various relationships between psychology and law, introduces some of the topics under investigation, and outlines methods and challenges in psychological research. It shows that if legal scholars and practitioners are informed about the latest empirical findings in psychology and apply them to their work, they can debunk myths, increase the overall effectiveness of the legal system, and contribute to its fairness. |
