Description | The chapter on Czech school policy reforms in the context of Central and Eastern Europe examines the role of local actors and international influences within individual school reforms. It describes and analyses examples of policy decisions and network-driven school reform initiatives through the series of school reforms that took place in the second half of the twentieth century and two decades of the present century. The central part of the chapter presents the post-socialist school reform transformations and the interplay between local and transnational actors. The chapter then discusses whether small and medium-sized countries such as Czechia are in a position to create an original functional school education model. |
