Description | New media are constantly gaining popularity and are getting prefered to the traditional media platforms (television and radio). The number of households, which own radio or television is declining, whereas ownership of smartphones, computers and access to the internet is growing. The most common way for funding of public serivce media is through television/radio licence based on ownership of radio or televi-sion. Therefore, the current trend poses a possible threat for sustainability of funding of public service media. The author examined the approaches to web-streaming and access to on-line media platforms of public service media in different countries. |
