Description | Accompanying interactive sheet for children to Jiří Hilmar's exhibition. Czech artist Jiří Hilmar (*1937) works with order and regularity, which he respects, but at the same time opens up to new arrangement possibilities. He creates three-dimensional images from paper, which he folds, colors and cuts in various ways. When you move around his paper reliefs, they change depending on where you look at them. In his sculptural work, Jiří Hilmar searches for the lost harmony between nature and the human world. He admires the power of tree growth and what nature has created, he really tries to emphasize and highlight the addition of painstakingly processed parts. He joins the pieces of trunks and glued pieces of different trunks back into the one whole that they were originally. |
