Description Physical self-concept as a part of identity formation, which artists of contemporary Czechoslovakia also included in their artistic strategies in the 1960s and 1970s, was probably most clearly manifested in the work of Eva Kmentová. The contribution will be devoted mainly to the reflection of connecting moments and parallels of her work with the contemporary creative activity of internationally established artists Alina Szapocznikow and Hannah Wilke. Like Szapocznikow and Wilke, Kmentová freely reflected in her works the new impulses taking place in post-war world art, and these connections will be placed in a wider context. Also, as part of the confrontation and broader contextualization of the creative activity of all three artists, their individual life experiences will be pointed out, which were reflected in their art and although they are understandably different in some respects, in some respects, on the contrary, they show a surprising closeness. In this context, probable sources of inspiration will also be defined and the level of familiarity of Eva Kmentová with the work of the mentioned authors will be indicated. In parallel, the contribution will also take into account contemporary emancipatory efforts to legitimize women artists and include their opinions, attitudes, strategies and experiences in the art-historical discourse in contrast to the completely ambiguous Czechoslovak environment in terms of feminism.
