Description Food is an important and frequent topic in the context of individual ageing. Typically, the nutritional aspect of diet or the ability to independently acquire and consume food is addressed due to the significant risk of malnutrition. Food is also often one of the first things addressed for the person needing care, whether by importing ready-made lunches or shopping. In our research project, we are looking at the social and cultural meaning of food in the lives of ageing people. Based on interviews and observations, food is a significant and undervalued element of quality of life. In this paper, we explore the pleasures that food brings in different contexts.
