Description | In 1881, a rather famous Prague architect designed the reconstruction of an older building of an inn in Moravská Ostrava into a residential house of the only local Czech-minded "coal baron" Vladimír Vondráček and also designed a stable in the garden. However, the aim of the paper is not only to recall the now non-existent buildings, long forgotten in the local historical consciousness, as well as their authorship. The building project also serves as an example of Josef Schulz's working methods when thinking about the architectural commission, especially in comparison with a similar project to rebuild a villa for Dr. Emanuel Forster. |
