| Description | The contribution presents industrial sites uncovered by salvage archaeological research in Brno – for example, the chemical factory Hochstetter and Schickardt, the textile factory A.F. Schwab and above all the key location of the former textile factory Vlněna. It is one of the main foci of Brno's textile industry, and the research was carried out in the years 2016-2022 on an area of more than 2.5 ha. Salvage archaeological research made it possible to examine the origin and development of textile operations on the site, thereby contributing significantly to the state of current knowledge of industrial archaeology. Furthermore, the development of our approach to industrial sites and research methodology will be outlined, as well as the attitude of investors towards industrial archaeology. We will present a model of cooperation with TIC Brno and the Technical Museum Brno in the promotion of industrial archeology in Brno and our plans for the future. |
