| Description | The debate about heritage is currently shifting from its conception as an immutable historical relic to one of a dynamic process that connects the legacy of the past with the future. Therefore, This paper will look at the issue of cultural heritage through the example of Puppetry inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2016. The examined manifestations will be viewed through their performative qualities, and a closer look will be taken at how the bearers perceive tradition and continuity with history in several selected dimensions of cultural performance. Finally, the paper will raise the question of whether this approach can be applied to other manifestations of cultural heritage and where the boundaries between tangible and intangible cultural heritage lie. |
