Description | Although it is common to consider to what extent the canon-shaped production of selective publications and entire editions of the "best" of national comics production is determined by aesthetic qualities, and to what extent by power-ideological motives, other factors (and motives) come into play in the contemporary Czechoslovak comics scene and determine its form much more significantly. One of these factors is the existence of an audience - sufficiently wealthy to acquire expensive comics committees. The other motive is undoubtedly nostalgia. The paper focuses on two phenomena of contemporary Czechoslovak comics: the collected editions and reissues of magazine comics of the 1970s and 1980s (the Golden Books of Comics, produced by the Vybíral publishing house, etc.) and the fictional world of the Fast Arrows, which this year has once again received an affordable paperback edition, where the classic stories are complemented by new, updated adventures of the boys' gang. |
