Description A study of corrosion phenomena in the Pršavý chimney area of Býčí skála cave (Moravian Karst, Czech Republic) was conducted. The research aimed to describe a conceptual model of corrosion formation and analyze the connection between seepage water and overlying Rudice layers. Findings suggest corrosion occurs primarily in summer when CO2 partial pressure in water exceeds that in the overburden. Geochemical and isotopic analyses indicate that aggressive water enters the cave rapidly without reaching calcite equilibrium. The chimney's overburden likely consists of Rudice layers in a paleokarst depression. Seepage water showed lighter isotopic composition compared to the local stream and rainfall, with inverted seasonal variations. The study provides insights into geochemical processes, water sources, and seasonal factors affecting cave corrosion.
