| Description | In today's modern age, it is no longer possible to imagine life without digital technologies, the Internet and social networks that allow seamless and fast virtual communication over a distance of a few metres, but also halfway around the world. Access to the internet is almost everywhere and can be accessed via desktop computers, laptops, tablets and mobile phones. Unfortunately, perpetrators use these means to facilitate the commission of certain crimes, whether it is property crime, violent crime or sexual crime. There are many risks involved in communicating with strangers on the Internet, as people may behave differently in the virtual world than in the real world, or may impersonate a completely different person. The online world provides anonymity, accessibility and a much easier way to both select and contact a victim, allowing sexual predators to converse with multiple victims at once. It is the issue of sexual coercion carried out through the internet that this paper will focus on. It will focus on its manifestations, possible ways of dealing with it, as well as its prevention and avoidance. |
