Description | In this paper, I present partial results of a study on the entry into the teaching profession and the acquisition of the necessary qualifications through lifelong learning in the field of education. The aim is to find out why graduates of non- -teaching university programs decide to become teachers, what they consider to be prestigious about the profession, and what they expect from the study leading to the acquisition of teaching qualifications. The research sample consists of 6 lifelong learning course participants, shortly before the completion of their studies. I chose semi -structured interviews as the method of data collection. Data analysis was carried out in accordance with the principles of grounded theory. The results reveal contrasts between the motivations of those interested in teaching and their relationships with the perceived prestige of the teaching profession and expectations from the study |
