Description In 2015, the Association of Social Service Providers issued the Recommended Quality Standard for Homes for the Elderly in the Czech Republic (APSS CR, 2015), which included recommendations on diet. They include meals and catering among important indicators of the internal quality of the service provided. In particular, they identify as important the creation of space for the exercise of the clients' own will - the possibility of choosing from several meals, the possibility of choosing the place of consumption of meals and the time flexibility of meal delivery. They also identify the provision of nutritional care and the introduction of a minimum of three hot dinners per week as important. Although these recommendations are described by the Association itself as a level that should become a minimum standard and should therefore be met or exceeded by all establishments, at the time of their publication the recommended standard (not only for food but for all points in general) was achievable by only about a third of providers.
