Description | The dissertation aims to reflect on the social aspect of contemporary Czech literature through Darnton's model of the book communication circuit, which (like actor-network theory) relates various actors of the literary field to the process. The application of these interdisciplinary methods to literature will be illustrated by specific case studies of selected works of contemporary Czech prose. It will focus in particular on the socially critical work of Patrik Ouředník. The aim of the thesis is to point out the tendency to link human and non-human actors into collectives and networks, from whose interconnections the engagement and social gravity of these literary works and the social issues they address emerge. |
