Description Cultural paradigms defining a space, in which the understandings are formed, represent basic assumptions, conditions and limitations of understanding. Conflicts of communication have also arisen in the cultural paradigm space where processes of understanding occur. The originators of those conflicts are paradoxes. From the point of view of understanding, paradoxes stand for communication procedures by which a human being (or mind) is involved in a conflict of communication which is or is not successfully overcome by him/her. If conflicts of communication are not understand, as happens in most cases when different paradigmatic principles are in conflict, the process of understanding is retarded or even blocked. Only from the time when the interpretation of the paradox is founded, when the paradox enters a story or a process of ascribing meaning, paradox is made a way of effective understanding, a means of communication and a part of the developing world order/chaos. Symbolic spheres, the metaphorical tradition, systems of genre and values etc., a common denominator of which could be ironies, humor, tragedy or absurdity are standard and at the same time a stabilizing part of cultural paradigms. Paradoxes which create another standard and stabilizing domain of cultural paradigms are used especially in those kinds of attitudes.
