| Description | This publication is the first "in depth" study dealing. With questions regarding international organizations, which was published in the Czech republic after 1980. It has two main aims: first, to serve as a text that could be used as study material for high school and university students; and second, to make a rational contribution to the current debate on the subject. The publication is divided into three main parts: the first part consists of theoretical introduction to the problematic of international organizations; the following two parts deal with the worldwide organizations (International Monetary Fund, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, United Nations Organization, World Trade Organization) and regional organizations (European Union, Organization on Security and Cooperation in Europe, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, Council of Europe, Association of Southeast Asian Nations, North American Free Trade Agreement) Each of chapters focuses on one particular organization, and all the chapters have the same basic structure: at the beginning of the chapter there is a chart with essential data followed by a description of the organization. In the second part one particular problem significant for the given organization is analysed in detail. |
