| Description | The paper compares basic principles of the classical test theory (CTT) and item response theory (IRT). Main emphasis is laid on the presentation of the IRT models and their advantages for test construction. Comparison of CTT and IRT is focused on the issues of the item-test relationship, item characteristics, reliability and accuracy of measurement, and possibilities of test results interpretation. |
