Description | Process of elelectrochemical dehalogenation of aromatic halogenated compounds like chlorobenzene, dichlorobenzenes and chlorotoluene as model halogenated compounds has been studied by means of cyclic voltammetry and on-line mass spectrometry. It has been shown that comparing to direct cathodic electroreduction in nonaqueous solution the dehalogenation process proceeds in aqueous solution at more positive potentials. The electrochemical dehalogenation could be promissing way of transformation of environmentaly hazardous halogenated compounds stored after stopping their usage and production. |
