Description | Elimination voltammetry with linear scan (EVLS)enables to eliminate chosen particular currents by means of linear combination (transformation) of total currents measured at different scan rates. In general, EVLS can choose currents with different dependence on scan rate,and calculate the corresponding elimination functions. Moreover, the elimination is not limited by the number of particular currents. From experimental point of view, the EVLS requires the linear sweep voltammetric curves be recorded with the same potential step, so that the I-E data sets be obtained for the same number of points on the potential axis, and for the same potential range and the data be not influenced by the current offset. A large increase of the sensitivity and resolution was found in the case of the simultaneous elimination of charging and kinetic currents, while conserving the diffusion current. This elimination enables to resolve the overlapped signals. For the adsorbed electroactive substance on hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE), this elimination function gives a well readable peak-counterpeak which has successfully been utilized to the analysis of overlapped reduction signals of adenine and cytosine in oligodeoxy nucleotides. |
