Description | The aim of this study was to examine the effect of sigma receptor ligand haloperidol in guinea pig atrial preparations. Stimulated contractions were recorded and analysed by time- and time-frequency methods. The analysis revealed that the compound exerts marked positive inotropic effect. This was significantly less pronounced in case of repeated drug administration. We conclude that sigma receptors in guinea pig atria undergo a desensitization process. |
