| Description | In the majority of health care systems the offer to citizens as regards information on the quality of offered health care is one of the important priorities of the health policy. The submitted paper deals with the problem according to which criteria citizens select their general practitioner.The authors selected by quota selection a representative sample of 400 respondents from Brno. The questionnaire submitted to respondentswas focused on detection of information citizens require for selection of their general practitioner, and what type of information is available. The results indicate that there are controversies between the information requested by citizens and that available to them. This pertains in particular to information on the professional qualities of the doctor, achieved therapeutic results, surgery hours, and equipment of the surgery and waiting room. It may be stated that the majority of citizens lacks information they consider substantial. |
