| Description | The paper specifies notion of Digital Libraries and provides overview of current research areas in the field of Digital Libraries. It concentrates on eight main areas: digital collection building, general framework and architecture, global persistent identification, metadata, interoperability and scaling, resource discovery, intellectual property rights and economics, long-term preserving of digital information. Selected current research trends or projects for each of the areas are briefly mentioned. |
