Description Supposing protein structure comparison (using 3D alignment, fold classification, subunits assembling and other methods) as a tool for exploring similarities between two protein receptors, we are competent to look for and investigate new possible interactions between ligand and a foreign receptor. The main aim of this work is to discover possible crosstalks between various known hormonal axes and to design a network of their interactions. Using bioinformatic methods such as database searching, sequence alignment and model optimization and verification we compare receptor molecules and their local sequence motifs in order to deduce similarity relations. After verifying structural complementarity of hormone-receptor pairs we would like to build protein-protein interaction network based on binary relations such as signal transduction through certain membrane receptors. The sequent model network should include main hormonal axes, their feedbacks as well as reciprocal interactions among them, and will be used for further time series simulations.
