Description | Web Services is an emerging standard for remote invocation of arbitrary services and is especially well suited for wide area networks. It provides interesting platform and language independent features, mainly due to its XML nature. A downside of this approach is relative schema complexity, marshalling and communication overhead of the messaging layer - the Web Services Messaging Protocol (also known as SOAP). Our poster presents an attempt to find more efficient, yet platform and language independent, portable solution mainly for communicating heavy data loads, where using XML-encoded data and SOAP is highly inefficient approach. |
