Description There are determined negative externalities of individual automobile transportation in city traffic systems on the basis of theoretical assumptions. Case studies from cities in developed countries demonstrate selected measures to decrease negative effects of transportation on the city environment. Among the measures analyzed are: road pricing, public transport preference, support for cyclists, car-sharing and implications of these measures for land-use planning. Evaluation of using matematic models in simulation of efects of particular traffic calming measures. Analysis of traffic situation in Brno city.
