Description | Metalothioneins(MT) belongs to the protein group which are responsible for the regulation of the physiological concentrations of heavy metals. Analogous to MTs, phytochelatins (PCs)are able to bind heavy metals, too. The aim of our paper is the determinationof MTs and PCs by means of electrochemistry. Besides common voltammetric methods (diferentialpulse voltammetry - DPV and cyclic voltammetry - CV) chronopotentiometric stripping analysis with constant current (CPSA)was used. The application adsorptive transfer stripping technique(AdTS) with combination with CPSA provides the analysis of MT in samples with volumes about 5 microliters. Moreover, the application of Brdicka reaction and HMDE gives the possibility to determine MT in picomolar concentrations. On HMDE MT provides catalytic signal in potentials around -1.75 V (vs. Ag/AgCl/3M KCl) - peak H. The CPSA+AdTS technique is cheap and time unasuming method without the destruction of samples. |
