Description | Inter-individual difference in the pain perception is also infulenced by genetic factors. The aim of our association study was to clarify which genes may take part in perception of acute pain. To the candidate genes participating in pain perception probably belongs among others -174 gene for interleukin-6 and delta 32 gene for CCR5 receptor. We included 194 patients with planned tonsillectomy. Both pain intensity and pain tolerance were monitored during the first eight hours after surgery. The patients DNA was isolated from the leukocytes and was used as a template for the PCR. Obtained data were analysed by correlation analysis. The relationship between mean pain intensity and -174 gene for IL-6 polymorphism, and relationship between mean pain intensity in the third hour after surgery and delta 32 gene for CCR5 receptor polymorphism were found. |
