| Description | The article deals with the conception of explanation which is based on the view that particular facts are explained by subsuming them under general laws. The first part of the article explicates deductive-nomological and inductive-statistical model of explanation and attempts to specify the differences between them. The second part sums up the main objections to this conception of explanation and shows this account of explanation as unsatisfactory and unaccepted. |
