Description | Several measures of different aspects of self and identity (on different levels of self-reflection) were included into four-year longitudinal study of Czech adolescents. This project was broadly oriented on peer, family, and school context of the adolescent psychosocial development. It allowed to explore personal and social context of self and identity development. The first part of this contribution informs about relationships between different aspects of self-system (self-esteem, self-efficacy, styles of self-definition, statuses of identity). The second part examines to specify the influence of parents, friends, and peers on self and identity development. Personality traits and gender are also discussed as important determinants self and identity development. |
