| Description | The concept of childhood enjoys great popularity today. Debates on this topic are attended by adults who then create general ideas of how children perceive the events and life around them and it is this group who then develops the very concepts of what childhood actually is. Children themselves are very seldom given the floor. The objective of this contribution is to enable readers the opportunity to look at the world through the eyes of a child; to indicate problems children encounter and to see how they cope with those problems. The primary resource is made up of documents written by children on the topic: Childrens Advice to Parents on How They Should or Should Not Educate Their Children. Content analysis of these documents enables monitoring of the perceived problems of present-day children and at the same time provides some information on how children go through that period identified by adults as childhood. |
