Description | The aim of the study was to find differences in reflex blood pressure regulation among 86 healthy adolescents, 16 adolescents with essential or 15 secondary hypertension.Baroreflex sensitivity (BRS), PI variability (varPI), SBP variability (varSBP) were calculated by spectral method at the frequency of 0.1 Hz. Subjects were divided according to the varSBP and varPI into 9 subgroups A-I. Results: EH and SH had significantly lower BRS than K (p<0.001), and significantly higher varSBP (p<0.001). EH and SH were significantly concentrated into the triplet of groups (A+D+G) with high varSBP (EH: 82%, SH: 88%, K: 33%). EH (25%) were concentrated into the subgroup G (high varSBP and low varPI) compared with SH (6%) and K (5%). Conclusions: Significantly higher number of adolescents with EH in group G could indicate a significantly higher participation of inadequacy of baroreflex in the development of essential hypertension. |
