Description | The analysis was carried out with a set of 60 patients suffering from carcinoma of the pharynx and supraglottis. Besides routine examinations, flow cytometric analysis of was performed, p53 and Ki-67 markers were established by means of immunohistochemistry. Furthermore mitotic and apoptotic index were established. Cytokinetic parameters and proliferation activity were found as important predictors of the second level (after recognizing stage, grade and DNA status of the tumor). Early progressed cases have typically decreased SPF fraction combined with increased mitotic activity. |
