| Description | The paper describes origins, development and current trends of museum education. This field is defined as theory and practice of education in museums. The first theoretical reflection of museum education traces back in the 16th century. A brief account of modern museum education is provided, which have been blossoming since the last third of the previous century. It was manifested by systematic research, publishing theoretical texts, and work in institutions and in tertiary education. The final part of the paper describes the current state of museum education. |
