Description Tree worshipping in ancient Finland might be divided in two groups according to position of a tree and a according to its species. There were trees offering security (a yard-tree) with relationship to a dwelling place or to people of a particular grange. On the other hand, most of the trees in woods ment for people rather a danger. In a similar way, the extent or sense of danger or safeness depended upon particular species.
