Description | The paper deals with the ability of beginning teachers to inform us about specific areas of their school's climate. The study compares the results of three methods - personal diaries, focus groups and semistructured interviews. The areas of school climate that are mostly perceived and reported by beginning teachers are discussed. The results also schow large differences in the information gathered via the three methods used. The differences lead to discussion of where we need to be caution when we want to collect abstract information that is necessarily a product of the informer's reflective processing. |
